Ruby Bloch moved to New Orleans in 2011 and immediately found herself enamored with the Nola restaurant scene. After several years heading up the pastry kitchens of some of New Orleans best restaurants, Pastry Chef Ruby Bloch started Salt & Light Pastry Co. in January of 2018. Salt & Light aims to craft unique dessert experiences using fresh and inspired flavors with modern design to elevate special events of all sizes. Ruby has been recognized locally and nationally for her beautiful and flavorful desserts including Zagat 30 Under 30, Louisiana Cookin’s Chefs to Watch, and most recently, Ruby competed on Food Network’s Spring Baking Championship. Ruby is passionate about bringing joy and love to her baking and to her community.
